Automatic selection requires a peak advance of 100 to 5,000 percent, at least 150 stored trading days, average daily dollar volume of at least one million US dollars, and a detected breakout with a pivot of at least one US dollar. Peaks above 1,000 percent also require ADR of at least three percent. Peak measures the advance from the lowest closing price before the confirmed yearly high. Yearly return runs from the first opening price to the last closing price. Maximum drawdown covers all closing prices in the calendar year, not just the period after the breakout. This retrospectively selected sample does not contain a complete comparison group of failed setups.
